I Have No Idea What I’m Doing
Have you ever felt this way? I know I have, and I feel this way frequently. It’s okay though, because being a teacher, I know all about Growth Mindset”. For those of you unfamiliar with this term, it simply means that you haven’t accomplished your goal YET, but each day you’re closer to it. We teach this to our students, but we often forget to give ourselves the same grace.
So I’ve Made a Decision
I’m taking my blog in a new direction. Being an entrepreneur in these quickly changing, yet exciting times, the opportunities are plenty. However, so are the distractions. I find myself working diligently at building two businesses simultaneously. Twenty years ago this would’ve been insane, but in 2019 is totally doable thanks to the internet. I have no business experience, sales experience, business building experience. But I have mentors, I have Google, and I have passion. There are good days when my focus and productivity are laser sharp. And there are bad days when my motivation is low and my self doubt is high. I have fallen prey to many Facebook ads promising to give me the secret formula to huge success in 30 days and I have had revelations that there is no substitute for reaching out and talking to people.
I’m Thinking I’m Not Alone Here
Just through scrolling through social media and general conversation, it seems like everyone is trying to build a business. Whether it’s due to the abilities technology offers now, or the fact that people are over-worked, tired, stressed and just want more control over their own life – or a combination of both, we’re all trying to conquer the Wild West. So why not do it together? It is with this thought that I have decided to make this blog more of a diary of sorts – a “Day in the Life” of an entrepreneur. It will be real talk. No “How to make a million dollars in 30 days” garbage. You’ll see the good, the bad and the ugly. Whether you’re an entrepreneur or just curious about what it’s all about, my hope is you will join me on this journey. That you’ll comment and help me create a conversation that’s real and share your ups and downs. And that together we can create an environment that benefits everyone following along. Together, we can accomplish anything!
